Fisher is 8 Months!

Here's what's been going on during his 8th month:
  • He is a speedy little crawler now. That kid can book it! He travels from the living room to his bedroom quite often.
  • He is pulling up! He's really embraced this new move. He's up in the crib all the time and constantly pulling up on the sofa.
  • He just finally mastered pushing himself up into the sitting position!
  • He still goes down around 7:15pm, but he's now started waking up a bit earlier (around 6:30am) which this momma doesn't love.
  • He's still eating fruits and veggies and now we've started introducing small food bites. He's had banana, grapes and pineapple. We also give him the snack "puffs" which he's done really well with.
  • He has his two bottom center teeth. So cute.
  • He is still quite chatty and says "mama" a lot. Yay! Still doesn't really say "dada" much. We're working on it.
  • He still really likes his walker. He gets a big kick out of us pushing him and chasing after the dogs.
  • We've discovered that he really enjoys sitting and reading with us. It's been a great way to keep him happy when he's a bit fussy. And we of course love the cuddle time.
  • He's started going to the nursery at the gym this past week. I like getting him used to different people and locations. Overall, he does well with everyone so it makes it pretty easy.

The big activity in his 8th month was obviously Christmas. And boy was that kid spoiled! We spent time his first Christmas in Memphis and then celebrated here in Nashville on the 26th. I'll post again with a ton of holiday pictures, but I'll include a few here as well.

Here are some pictures from the past month:

Cricut Christmas Gift

Here's a Cricut project I worked on as a Christmas gift for my parents, Momma C and Pops. They added the brown paper to the back of the old window to make it a little more visible on their wall.

Check out the final result:

The top portion is done with craft paper and modpodge while the bottom "Neil Fisher" portion was done in vinyl. The plan is to add the names of new grandbabies as they come along. The plus of using vinyl is that we can always pull it off and change it up if we need more space. I really like the way it turned out!

Thanks for the pictures, Pops, and good thinking on the paper, Momma C!

Until next time...

We are Going to Haiti!

Hey All!

I am so excited to announce that Brent and I are going to serve abroad as a couple! We will be taking our first international mission trip to Haiti in October, the 19th -26th, to serve with Mission Lazarus and our church, Crosspoint Community Church

The cost of both Brent and I to attend this trip is $3,300. Therefore we are now kicking off our fundraising! Please visit our fundraising page at http://www.razoo.com/story/Brent-And-Robin-Kee to read more about our mission and how you can help. Every little bit helps move us closer to loving those in Haiti!

We will get to love on sweet kids like this!

Thank you in advance for helping us go and love. We will keep you updated as we move forward in this journey.

Robin & Brent

Acts 20:35 "In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

"I’m more convinced than ever that changing the world isn’t really that hard. The equation is simple. Go + Love = World Change" - Pete Wilson, Senior Pastor at Crosspoint Community Church

UPDATE: Less than 12 hours into our fundraising and with only 3 donors (and $25 of our own money) we reached our goal of $3,300! We are so thankful for the extremely generous donor that knocked out $3,150 for us.

We could have never imagined our fundraising going this way. We feel that God used this to make it perfectly clear that Brent and I are meant to serve in Haiti. It is such a wonderful blessing and we can't wait to leave in October.

We will continue to update everyone on how you can help us along the way. Donations above and beyond our needed amount will help others meet their fundraising goals. We will also be collecting supplies to take with us. As soon as I have more details, I will let you guys know.

God is good!

Fisher is 7 Months!

This is almost two weeks late, but here's the 7 month update for Fisher.

We had a check up yesterday so Fish could get his second flu shot and here are his current stats (at 7 months and 11 days.) He is now 18 lbs & 3 oz.

Here's what's been going on during his 7th month:
  • He has mastered his scoot/drag crawling. He can really move and now is full-on crawling on his knees. (That started a little after 7 months.)
  • He is sitting up really well unassisted and is getting close to being able to push himself up into the sitting position.
  • He is still grabbing his feet. He's just so stinking flexible!
  • He has a lot more hair these days and even though it's lighter than it was at birth, it seems to be getting a bit darker now.
  • We are still keeping bedtime at around 7:15pm and are up around 7:30am. Some days he's up earlier, but he plays happily in his crib which is wonderful.
  • We are eating fruits and veggies! He seems to like most everything. We're eating fruits, veggies and cereals.
  • HE GOT HIS FIRST TOOTH! I still can't believe it! The first tooth was one of the center bottom teeth and now (past 7 months) we have a second tooth!
  • He is now "babbling" and talking up a storm. He's officially said "mama" (yay!), but I think that was really after we hit the 7 month mark.
  • He loves to jump. That kid can rock out in his Jumperoo.
  • He is obsessed with his walker. He can spend 45 minutes in that thing just scooting all around the room.
  • Fisher received his first Imagination Library book this month.

This month we celebrated Thanksgiving and Fisher enjoyed tons of family time. He also had his first family Christmas party on the day he turned 7 months. It was really fun to introduce him to Christmas gifts. (He was mainly interested in the bow or paper, as expected.)

Here are some pictures from the past month:

Time to Catch Up

So it's not total laziness that has kept me from blogging lately. It's actually the fact that I've been out of space to post photos for a while now and really didn't want spend the money to purchase more space. But I'm ready to return.

Get ready because you're about to get hit with quite a few catch-up posts. We've got Fisher's 7 month update, Thanksgiving, Christmas, a few craft projects and even a new photography adventure with the hubby to cover. Oh yeah, I know you are excited.

Until next time...

Fisher is 6 Months!

Fisher is 6 months! Seriously? Half a year, already? Geez...

We had his 6 month check yesterday and his current stats are:

  • 17 lbs & 7.4 oz - He's just slightly over 5oth percentile in weight.
  • 27 in long - He jumped up to 75th percentile in height. I told Brent this will probably be the only time he's considered "tall" or he isn't taking after his daddy.

Here's what's been going on the past month:
  • He is really good at scooting himself around on his belly. He mostly turns in circles, but he is learning to move forward a bit too.
  • He loves, LOVES the pups now. We have fun chasing the dogs around and he loves letting Maeby kiss him.
  • He is sitting up really well when assisted and can even hold himself up for a few minutes on a good day.
  • He still really loves grabbing his feet. He especially pulls on them during diaper changes.
  • His hair is slowly increasing, but is definitely lighter than it was at birth. He's actually got quite a bit now, but it all seems to be in the back and it's slowly making it's way to the front and top of his head.
  • He is still sleeping through the night great! Bedtime is around 7:15 and we are up around 7am. He's started waking up earlier, but he plays happily in his crib which is wonderful.
  • We transitioned from nursing to formula this month. I officially stopped nursing a couple weeks ago and he seems to be doing great with the formula.
  • We are eating veggies! We've introduced squash, green beans, carrots and peas. We're about to get started on some fruits as well and we still do a little rice cereal or oatmeal. It has been a  hilarious process to watch!
  • Along with the veggies, we've started using the highchair for the first time. It makes me feel like he's growing up so fast to see him in a "big boy" chair.

Other than Halloween we haven't had any new major activities this month, but Brent and I are spending our first night away from Fisher tonight. Ah! We are doing a late anniversary celebration (now that I'm no longer nursing) and my parents are coming in town to spend the night with Fish. I'm very excited, but it will be a bit tough to leave my little man all night. I just love seeing that little face before bed and first thing in the morning. (tear)
