WOW wednesday: Beautifully Simple

I'm obsessed with Kara's Pary Ideas which is a blog that features every sort of home party you can imagine. I'm really hoping to make a career of planning at home parties one day so it is a fabulous source of inspiration.

This particular party featured on Kara's Party Ideas is one of my favorites due to its beautifully simple design and budget friendly decor. Check out this adorable Aqua & Red 1st Birthday Party:

So much fun!

WOW wednesday: I Love Chihuly

So a while back Brent and I got to see the most AMAZING Chihuly exhibit at Cheekwood here in Nashville. I was geeking out during the entire thing and I'm pretty sure I still drool every time I see a photo of his work.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Dale Chihuly, here is a quick run-down: He is a glass blower who is "the man" in the his industry. He was actually introduced to glass while studying interior design (which I totally dig) and his work is in more than 200 museum collections worldwide. Basically, he is awesome.

So let's see if you start drooling...(and all these pictures come from the Chihuly website.)

THE BOATS, 2008

 PERSIAN PERGOLA CEILING, 2002

SCORPION TAILS AND BAMBOO, 2008

 WALLA WALLAS, 1996

That's just a taste of his skills. Check out his website, http://www.chihuly.com/, to see more pictures and if you are ever near an exhibit, you MUST GO.

WOW wednesday: For the Love of Pets

My husband emailed me this article a couple days ago and I just had to share. It's all about having pet built-ins in your home. I'm just going to share the pictures, but if you want the details you can check out the article here

All I can say is "Wow, they love their pets!"

custom built-in dog bed sleeping area under roof eaves

custom built-in dog bed area with doors under staircase

custom dog bed nook with vintage grate door

custom laundry room with built-in dog bed area and grooming sink

custom hutch with cat silhouette door cut out for hidden litter box

custom built-in dog crates and raised feeding station in kitchen

custom island with inset dog bowls and dog bone shaped drawer pull cut outs

I love my furbabies dearly, but how far would I go to make them comfortable in my home? Would you take your pets into consideration while building your house or making renovations?

Until next time...

WOW wednesday: Don't Throw Stones

source
The Feria Valencia Convention and Exhibition Centre in Spain (founded in 1917) is the oldest exhibition company and the largest venue of its type in the country with over a million square feet of indoor and outdoor space. HUGE!!! It is also an amazingly designed building. Here are a few pictures to explain why this Centre is a "WOW".

This huge glass structure pictured below is only the roof of the hall of a four-story underground building. Yeah, it's a HALLWAY...crazy!

Pretty spectacular, right? If you're interested in more, visit the Feria Valencia website.

WOW wednesday: The Bold & Beautiful

How amazing is that feature wall in this bedroom? And the best part is that it's a tile mosaic! Who would have thought of tile in the bedroom? Not this girl, but it's gorgeous. Not to mention the spectacular amount of pattern on that bed. Be still my heart.

I love this blue bedroom with the pops of orange! For me it's a perfect combo for a great night's sleep and a cheery morning wake-up. And is that zebra print on that bench? I think so.

Now this room not only has some stellar patterns and massive pops of color, but it also has stairs going up through the sofa. What?!? Amazing.
